150 :NATO celebrates 70 years of carnage ,war crimes and arms manufacturers' profits

Yes indeed, things can go from bad to worse and from fraught situations to terribly fraught situations in the twinkling of an eye. With just over a week to go of the General Election 2019 aka GE2019, NATO held their Leaders'summit in London, the occasion also marked the organisation's 70th. anniversary of coming into existence. Supposedly predicated on the axiom of one for all and all for one,the truth is it hasn't been doing a terribly good job at even maintaining some sort of superficial yet agreeable pretence that the rule of law or some such ludicrous notion actually operates within NATO. The US and Turkey's machiavellian machinations in the Syria imbroglio is the prime case in point.France's President Macron reiterated with the typical verbal elan oft ascribed to his countrymen, that NATO must be brain dead and that what Turkey was doing in Syria vis a vis the Kurds was not acceptable. US President Trump on the contrary demurred in his customary,erm,style...

143 : Russia & Turkey Act as Grown-Ups in Syria

BBC News Online  reported :- Turkey and Russia have agreed what they say is a "historic" deal aimed at keeping Kurdish forces away from Syria's border with Turkey. It comes during a pause in Turkey's offensive to drive Kurdish forces out, creating a "safe zone" in the area. Under the deal, Syrian and Russian forces will immediately oversee a withdrawal of Kurdish forces. There is no word from the Kurdish fighters, whom Turkey regards as terrorists. The deal sets out plans for joint Turkish-Russian patrols along the border next week.  The agreement was announced after six hours of talks  on Tuesday between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian host, Vladimir Putin, in the Black Sea resort of Sochi. And so it goes.. At last it appears the international Law -breaking USA and its western satrapies have satiated their vicarious bellicose cravings and it's left up to the grown-ups in the international diplomatic arena to assume the pr...

124 : Putin launches swingeing critique on Western metropolitan elitist values at G 20 Summit

Occasionally, very occasionally  a leading world statesman articulates a point of view so cogently as to encompass one 's own outlook on an issue that it makes sense just to copy & paste verbatim. A couple of days ago The President of Russia launched a swingeing critique of prevailing  western metropolitan elitist values. To wit-   Vladimir Putin has trumpeted the growth of national populist movements in Europe and America, crowing that liberalism is spent as an ideological force. In an FT interview in the Kremlin on the eve of the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan, the Russian president said “the liberal idea” had “outlived its purpose” as the public turned against immigration, open borders and multiculturalism. Mr Putin’s evisceration of liberalism — the dominant western ideology since the end of the second world war in 1945 — chimes with anti-establishment leaders from US president Donald Trump to Hungary’s Viktor Orban, Matteo Salvini in Italy, and the Brexit insurge...

75 : Idlib : The Final Showdown?

Image
The track record of the United States and its NATO satrapies' foreign military and political adventurism is as follows:- Yugoslavia ,failed. Iraq (twice) failed.Afghanistan,failed.Libya,failed.Syria..failed. Mad-dog Erdogan's imperialistic hubris and mismanaged economic policies have left Turkey facing the perfect storm of impending fiscal implosion and recession. Aircraft and bombs and boots on the ground in neighbouring Syria costs money, lots of it and in US Dollars, of which the Treasury in Ankara has less of with each passing day. Idlib is the last redoubt of what remains of both ISIS and AlQaeda forces on the ground in Syria. The mutually antagonistic islamic terrorist organisations continue to knife each in other in the back with unrestrained alacrity and commendable homicidal fervour. Like rats tied up in a sack,it would be expedient and best all round just to leave then to go at it;the outcome being far fewer rats to deal with and in much poorer shape once you open ...

51 : Babchenko -A Fairy Tale from The Ukraine

People have short memories. Or rather the Corporate globalist MSM intentionally maintains a dominant popular narrative predicated on selective amnesia. In broad daylight the Russian investigative journalist,Babchenko is gunned down in cold blood.Russia is denounced as the perpetrator. Only, the very next day the murdered journo turns up alive and well at a news conference wherein it is explained to the world that it was all a pantomime to thwart an actual Russian effort to kill Babchenko! Doesn't make any sense ? Nothing in the Ukraine these days since 2014 does. Remember the much lauded -by the west- Euromaidan protests that morphed into a terrorist insurgent putsch? Execrable reactionary globalist riff-raff such as US Senator McCain -something of a prominent terrorist cheerleader- alongside a coven of EU satrapy foreign ministers led by Merkel's attack dog  Westerwelle all deployed to Kiev to urge on and reassure the incipient putschists. REUTERS reported :- ...

40 : International Law Breakers Plan Slaughter in Syria

The Western powers aka the United States and its kowtowing, toadying satrapies with the UK to the fore, insist that other nations, for example the likes of North Korea,Iran ,China and Russia,et al abide by what they assert are the generally accepted precepts of the so-called international rules based order,or " Westphalian System ". Rules based. International order.Supposedly brought into being by the 1648 Treaty of Westphalia that brought to a close what has since be called  " The Thirty Years War ",it established the legal fiction of territorial integrity and the sovereignty of individual nation states. Hasn't actually ever really bloody worked out in practice, but it's a convenient comfort blanket. This rules -based Order presumably applies to its most vociferous proponents; the likes of the US,UK and France for example,no? Just to be entirely consistent and thereby avoiding the charge of outright hypocrisy. Here's what Oona Hathaway, Professor of ...

38 : Boris Johnson is Humpty Dumpty

“When I use a  word ,”  Humpty Dumpty  said, in rather a scornful tone, “it  means  just what I choose it to  mean —neither more nor less.” “The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make  words mean  so many different things.” “The question is,” said  Humpty Dumpty , “which is to be master—that's all.” Two weeks after Mr Johnson gave an interview to the German broadcaster DeutscheWelle, and was asked why he believed the chemical came from Russia. He said: "When I look at the evidence, I mean the people from Porton Down, the laboratory..." Mr Johnson was asked if they had samples. He said: "They do. And they were absolutely categorical and I asked the guy myself, I said, 'Are you sure?' And he said, 'There's no doubt'." Gary Aitkenhead, chief executive of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) at Porton Down, said scientists had not "identified the precise source". The Foreign Secretary was urged to exp...

37 : Syria just got complicated

There is no recognised, valid international agreement that has magically granted authorisation nor any shred of legal legitimacy to the activities of the US.UK,Turkey or France whose forces are currently ensconced on the territory of the sovereign state of Syria. The only foreign forces who are incontestably legally, legitimately assisting the Syrian government are those of Russia,Iran and the forces of Hezbollah. That the corporate MSM in the UK choose to announce the death of a British forces soldier in Syria whilst serving with US Special forces does nothing to alter or mitigate the brazen violation of all manner of International Law and norms governing the relationship between sovereign states who are at peace with one another. Mad dog Erdogan's instigated  blitzkrieg against predominantly indigenous Kurdish dominated provinces bordering Turkey are a major case in point.Turkey's NATO membership further deepens an already insoluble imbroglio. The Kurds under attack were unti...

34 : Salisbury & Schadenfreude ;Russia Win ,Again!

And still it rumbles on.The Salisbury imbroglio. The tiniest molehill has over this last few days been assiduously turned into a proverbial mountain. Tory Minority Westminster Regime Leader May even went walkabout in the erstwhile largely overlooked Wiltshire County Town,as if she was Margaret Thatcher at the height of the Falklands conflict. Opposition Leader Corbyn ( barely two years on from being massively no-confidenced by 90% of his parliamentary  "colleagues" who still want nothing to do with him as their Party's duly elected leader after all this time ) has tried to inject  a dose of reason and level-headedness into the hyperbole strewn bluster aired from all directions in the House of Commons chamber as if it were the set of " The Darkest Hour ". And still it rumbles on. Expulsions of Russian embassy staff has been ordered;the nature of the incident itself has now Orwellian like been recategorised as a  direct attack on UK sovereignty and the first...

33 : The Spy Who Didn't Come Back from Dinner

Every so often journalist, commentator, columnist non-pareil Peter Hitchens hits the proverbial nail on the head. The other week in the otherwise not terribly important Wiltshire county town of Salisbury a most unfortunate incident occurred. A former Russian intelligence officer and his daughter were apparently subjected to poisoning by what authorities describe as a deadly nerve agent. This incident happened,so it seems, whilst they were having dinner at a local restaurant. MSM and social media platforms went ballistic over this. Boris Johnson, the Minority May Regime's Foreign Affairs Secretary even more so. Boycott of the FIFA World Cup, A myriad of potential targeted and general sanctions against  Russia and so on and so forth. In his  Mail on Sunday column ,Peter Hitchens ,as usual, managed to put some perspective on the entire burgeoning imbroglio. " 10 March 2018 10:18 PM PETER HITCHENS: We're goading Russia into a 'dirty war' we CANNOT win This ...

29 : Who is bombing who in Syria just got more complicated.

On February 15,the US secretary of State,Tillerson met with Turkey's Foreign Minister to discuss the current burgeoning imbroglio following Erdogan's launching of a blitzkrieg against the Syrian Kurdish enclave of Afrin. This what the pair of venal, posturing petomaines  of international diplomacy and apprentices of  Realpolitik came up with as a statement at the conclusion of their hastily arranged rendezvous:- “Turkey and the United States reaffirm their commitment to the preservation of the territorial integrity and national unity of Syria. To this end, we will decisively stand against all attempts to create faits accomplis and demographic changes within Syria, and are dedicated to coordination on transition and stabilization of Syria. “Recognizing the fact that there can only be a political solution to the Syrian crisis, and that it requires a viable political transition, Turkey and the United States agree to intensify their cooperation to bring about this result within...

23 : Deluded General rants about imaginary threat from Russia

A couple of days ago at RUSI aka the Royal United Services Institute, in a much trailed speech approved by Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson , Chief of the General Staff,General Sir Nick Carter stirred the proverbial international diplomatic  merde. General Sir Nick Carter controversially claimed that Russian hostility could come sooner than expected and the UK must prepare to "fight the war we might have to fight". The bemedalled Carter further alleged that Russia was building an increasingly aggressive expeditionary force and the potential military threats to the UK "are now on Europe's doorstep". Carter claimed that the Kremlin already boasted an "eye-watering quantity of capability" - a level the UK would struggle to match with regard to  what he said was Russia's new cyber warfare capabilities as well as Russian long-range missile strike capability, which he said was demonstrated in Syria when 26 missiles were deployed from a 1,500km ...

06 : The Syrian Imbroglio Continues

On Friday 13,November 2015 this happened in Paris (  gleaned from Reuter's online ). #WORLD NEWS NOVEMBER 14, 2015 / 12:06 AM / 2 YEARS AGO France in shock after Islamist attacks kill 129 Ingrid Melander ,  Marine Pennetier  PARIS (Reuters) - French prosecutors said on Saturday that three coordinated teams of gunmen and suicide bombers carried out a wave of attacks across Paris that killed 129 people in what President Francois Hollande called an “act of war” by Islamic State. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Two years on and ISIS/DAESH  inspired/instigated Islamic Terrorism still runs rampant across western europe.   Two years on and a BBC News investigation uncovers the previously secret deal between ISIS/DAESH and the US /NATO led  Syrian Democratic Forces.
